1. Staying or Going?
Well the voting is being carried out now and the current result is really close! It might literally go down right to the last vote! So stay tuned for the result!
2. Intra Game & Celebration
Like i said before the intra game and celebration is for everyone of you! So i will try my F***ing best to make sure that the whole team is going to be there on that day! So i have pushed it to May giving us a month to prepare. The date would ideally be 7th or 14th May? (Before Norman flies off for 3months!)
So keep yourself free that day and hopefully we may start the next season after the intra game!
3. Plans for the coming weeks before the new season.
If we were to join Espzen, we would have to play 3-4 friendly games against their teams to gauge our standards so to place us in a division in their Saturday league. The league will start near the end of May. It's 4 tiers and previously know as YSOSRS (now known as SUFI) is in division 2. We could be playing there as well next season if not we would be in Division 3 with Naranja Fc.
If we choose to stay in D2D than we would be able to arrange friendly games ourselves! Maybe training sessions for ourselves? For d2d the season should start in less than 4 weeks time (so they say) which will give us only a few weeks to prepare for the start of the season.
Meanwhile this week, we will be free from soccer, probably a kick-about at Pasir Ris Primary as many of our players are nursing injuries or away in vacation!
So meanwhile, just chill out and and hope for the best from tour d france's result!

The Perfect 10
Team Goat 3 Thunderveluboomqiesi 1
(Benny, Jackson, Yiwen)
10 games unbeaten! Yes this is the feat we have achieved in the last 10 games of the season. But sad to say although with this 10 games (8 wins and 2 draws), it may still not be enough for us to lift the title or even the 2nd place (if thunder were allowed to finish the season). But putting glory aside, we have really done well and have bonded much as a team.
Remembering from the start when KengYang came to help the team out and left for Aussie again. We were still adjusting our style of play and who is playing where. But right now, i'm proud to say that we have found a place for most of our guys to play. Passing have also been flowing and defense is getting more and more well-organised as the weeks passes us by. Really, Good job guys! Without the passion for soccer and the love for Team Goat in your hearts, we won't be where we belong now!
To the game,
Team Goat settle down in a very 'cui' field yesterday with determination to win the final game of the season. With a 18 men team we are definitely still showing our depth and strength in every department to challenge for glory next season where-ever we are! Soon the game kicked-off...
At the start Team Goat pile up the pressure for Thunder as we keep pushing the ball forward to the wings and the god-like clearing skill of Kahwoon make the defences look rather redundant at the back. Chances were created but we could not find a goal. 2 most notable chances fell to Kiong where his free-kick hit the top of the cross bar and a shot from distance just landing wide of the goal.
But soon, Team Goat broke the duck when Kiong gave a long throw into the box before Thunder's defence were even set up. Reluctant to come out of the goal, their goalkeeper was left stranded when the ball rolled into his 18-yard box which Benny stretched in to tap the ball into the net. (which in the process he pulled his groin muscle, HEHE). 1-0 goat.
Close to the end of the half, thunder start to put some passes together (arsenal like) and make crosses down the wing. Corners started to come fast and furious for us and at the start we were able to manage to deal with it. But soon their equaliser came when a super messy scrab which lands the ball into our net. Poor clearance from me cause the goal, my apologies to all! 1-1. 1st half draws to a close.
At the start of the 2nd half, Team Goat was really being pushed to the max as for about 15minutes we were constantly at the end of an assault. Thunder defence's push up a high line and push a lot of players into Goat's half. But luckily, we were able to handle the pressure and a few substitutions were made to counter the assault. Fresh legs were brought in, Yiwen ,Renjie and Jack notably came in to change the game at left wing, left back and right back respectively.
Our goal soon came against the flow of play as we were awarded a free-kick just inside our own half. And Renjie, the one who round the tall indian striker with his quick feet (as he requested LOL) puts in an accurate free-kick which landed just in between the defence line and the goalkeeper. And our ever reliable captain were at the right place at the right time to slot it home for Goat! 2-1!
5-10mins later another against the flow of play goal was scored by Goat, this time Yiwen. As we are leading the scoreline by 2 goals to 1, Thunder were pushing as many man forward as possible. And one mis-passed led to the goal when Zhuliang's 'SUPER VISION and ACCURATED PASS' bounce towards the no-man lands just outside of the penalty box. Yiwen quickly race towards the ball with the opp goalkeeper racing out at the other end to get to the ball. But with a beep test result of 13 point something, Yiwen was the first to reach the ball and lob it above the goalkeeper into an empty net. 3-1!!!
Subs were brought in to freshen up the team again. Sadly we couldn't get more goals as a few decent chance came up during the last few minutes. But it was definitely a good all-round performance by the team!
Man of the Match - KahWoon and ZhuLiang (tied)
Without our vice-captain we are unable to come out with a winner for the Man of the match today! But nonetheless this 2 guys have been the key for why we are victorious yesterday. Both were solid in defence to keep the opp out at bay.
Kahwoon (3 times motm!) was all over the defences and midfield clearing all balls today. Even he was exhausted by the constant running, he still gave his all to chase the wingers and kick the ball out of bounce! His holy-shit heading skills was also key today to win all the 1st ball and his determination to win headers really amazes me. He literally challenged the tall indian striker for the ball (which he eventually won)! This passion and mentality is definitely key to his recent success in the team.
Zhuliang is still being Vidic today by doing his job just infront of me. Clearing everything that the opp wanted to throw at me. He was all over the back 4 line as well to cover all his fellow goatees when there was trouble. Although he still make a few mistakes here and then he is still able to track back and recover the situation.
Well done guys! To me with these 2 guys infront of me it really make me feel safe!
I would like to put praise to both Thad and Kiong as well. They were key in yesterday's game by leading the attacking line. Kiong was able to hold the ball well and create many chance for the team. He is the main man that can bring the ball up and down the field without any fuss. Thad was influential as well! His ball holding skills is truly god-like! + with his holy big butt and bull like stature he just literally bulldoze through people! Also, he also did his job by spreading the ball to the wing to find open space which was crucial when we need to break forward or when we need to get the ball out of danger. Just like Scholes.
Alright guys here is the report of the game yesterday! I would post stuff up when i'm free!

Finally I'm able to find some time to write on this dead blog. Since i have pretty much write about this encounter on my previous post i shall talk more about our this season's performance. It has really been a roller-coaster ride for us. Starting we didn't win games (slow moving) than we started our unbeaten run by winning 3-0 against Vnpnus (1st exciting turn) than we kept going till we met our nemesis Star CF (slow again) than it started to pick up pace again and title was so close to us (Exciting again) till we meet the damn freaking Star again which almost ended our ride. But well would the last part of our ride be an exciting one or a slow return to the gantry? It is still yet to be decided. We could still do something about it by winning tmr's game hopefully without any card.
(By winning without a card, we would be 3pts above title chaser Tour and they would have to win at least 1 game against Vnpnus which leave us with some hope. If we draw or lose we will virtually be dead.)
But whatever the case is, the division 1 title is no longer within our control and the only thing we can do is just to win tmr's game and hope for the best. Thinking back in the past, If we could just win tour 1-0 that time when we were at bedok green. Or if we would win Star at least once we would not have land ourselves in this situation. But this is football at its best isn't it?
Title aside, we should be looking forward to the coming game tmr. Thunderveluboomqiesi is a worthy opp to play against, they are a good team and not 'dirty' in their play. A gentlemen game should be expected tmr and a good free-flowing football as well. With our team expected to boast a good 1st team it should be a tight contest. After all don't you guys wana beat them for the 1st time! And aren't we angry at them for postponing so many games? Haha! its time to set the record straight!
So lets go out tmr and win the game! Title or no title, our Team pride will be at stake tmr! Go GOAT!

An Invitation!
Recently Team Goat have been invited by D2D to take part in the inaugural Tiger Street Football Street Soccer Competition. This has really been an exciting news to hear as this shows that we are slowly and definitely being recognised Singapore social soccer scene.
The Competition is played in a unique oval (like ice-hockey court, can go behind goalpost), caged pitch, no sidelines and a dynamic, continuous state of play, the game-changing tournament provides a refreshing platform for players to showcase their talent and at the same time, provide nonstop exciting action for spectators in the months of April through to September.
The 182 teams competing in Tiger Street Football will be made up of not just consumer teams of aspiring footballers, but will include some of the world’s best street footballers from top football nations who will pit their skills against the winning consumer teams in matches at the local competitions as well as compete in the Grand Finals. The prestigious line-up includes street football teams from England, Brazil, Spain and Argentina. International football star and Tiger’s Football Champion, Wayne Rooney is all praise for the new format.
We have internally decided to send a team of 'youngster' for the competition in order for them to gain more exposure and also to have more bonding session with one another. We have chose the team in a manner that they have at least played for Team Goat for 2 seasons and is within the age range of 18-23.
The main reason why we (me & yiwen) have decided on this is that we want the 'Younger' generation to move forward together as a team and bring the team up to a higher level. Definitely they will be the one running around the field in the upcoming seasons right don't you agree? And for the younger ones, your chance will come when we got invited again! (kinda think about it we like got 3 Generations in our team)
So yea and the players representing us is:
1. Jackson (Cpt)
2. JinChuen
3. KahWoon
4. Jeffrey
5. Ariel
6. WeeKiong
7. WeiMing
Just note that we still do not have a Goalkeeper yet and if no one in the current 7 is willing to step up than I may need to eliminate one to put a Goalkeeper in. Rotation can be an idea.
The Competition will be held on April 16 and 17 so if you are free go down to support them and watch other teams play! Perhaps we can learn from them as well. The Venue is not out yet.

Do or Die
Opp: Thunderveluboomqiesi

This weekend we will be playing our last and also most important game in Team Goat's history. This game is very important because we are already sitting at 2nd position and a draw must be in place to at least let us leap frog the league leaders. But definitely like all of us agree upon is that a draw is definitely not enough to win the league and the only hope for us is to win the game without taking another yellow card just like last season.
With 3points (if we can manage that), it will be down to Tour to win at least one of their game against Vnpnus. But definitely it will not be an easy task as Vnpnus is fighting for relegation and they would need all the points they can get to avoid that. With 1 fighting for championship and 1 fighting to stay on the top level, I won't say it would be a clear result. After all Vnpnus have shown to be a giant killer by winning against Thunderveluboomqiesi once.
This weekend I'm actually quite curious to see how the turn-out for Thunder will be like due to their exams just around the corner. With our very own Thaddeus doing hardcore mugging right now, I would think that the opp is facing the same crisis as well and would they be able to get a squad ready? We will just have to see.
The good news for us is that, according to Yiwen, we are only going to miss a couple of players. Right now is Laphang, Jeffrey and tentatively Thaddeus (he would come if he can finish a certain amount of studying). Thus definitely we should be able to put out a nice strong side in this important game of ours!
With a good winning mentality we definitely can overcome anything right? So lets get ready for this weekend and have a good 'fight' with them till the end! And if we are just lucky enough we would have another trophy!!!

Just for Fun!
Since we are not playing this week and i really do feel the need to type something every week so that i can improve on my writing skills! I have decided to write this and yeap it is just for fun and never to laugh at other teams! So enjoy reading this and sorry to my peeps who are not Man Utd fans! HAHAHA!
Looking at the table, i have actually classified the teams in there to some of the EPL teams. I would feel that they are closely resemble to the teams and the way they play. REMEMBER it is just for laugh! so here goes...
1. Tour d'France (Chelsea FC)
It has really been a long time since we have meet Tour D'france and the impression they left me was well organisation and have a good midfield to keep all opp out. Their DM was the key to their play (which he was my secondary school friend), he is the player that organises the defend and clear everything that the opp throw at them. Thus showing that they are like chelsea with Essien at the back and with a good attacking midfielder like lampard playing the ball through.
2. Zespol FC (Liverpool FC)
What do you think of liverpool this season?
You can say that they are rather unlucky or maybe inconsistent this season although they have really good players. I would think that this is what is going on with Zespol as well. With their no.9 and their captain, its just like Torres and Gerrard together. They are the main man in their team that provide the very good flow of attack. Also their defence is like carragher and agger, commanding but sometime will still show some opening which let the opp in.
3. Thunderveluboomqiesi (Arsenal)
Arsenal is best when they can pass with flair and movement. They have all very good basic and movement to bring the team up and that is exactly like Thunderveluboomqiesi. With everyone at least have basic in soccer they are also well trained in movement. They do not have anyone that is super outstanding, but it is their team performance that make everything happen!
4. Swee Swee 1 FC (Tottenham Hotspur)
Tottenham Hotspur to me is having a good amount of superstars in the team and surrounds them with good fringe players. That is what Swee Swee 1 FC have, they have a bunch of really good players with flairs of their own to score goals. But sadly when they are not around the team would not be able to perform. I mean seriously, their midfield is like van der vaart and modric and wing there is bale. Remember the no. 7?
5. Star CF (Everton)
Freaking Resilient and a nemesis of Manchester United. Star CF have a very good all round team just like Everton. They are able to defend well and attack together as an unit that make them quite formidable. But it is also that they are always quite unlucky that makes them unable to do well to achieve anything! But with good luck they can just change any game. Star CF also have a few good players just like Everton who boasts Cahill, Arteta and Saha.
6. Vnpnus (Bolton)
When EPL team play against bolton they will send big players to play with them because they are well-known to be a very physical team and yes when we do play with them, we also have to do that. They have a very good all round squad with their strikers being the main threat in the team, just like Bolton who boasts Kevin Davies and Johan Elmander. But all in all they are a very friendly team to play against as they seldom get into fight and they have a high average squad age as well.
7. AJPL FC (Wigan)
Bottom of the table but it isn't a place for them. Wigan plays an attacking style of football even though they are at the bottom of the table and so is AJPL. They always chose to push the ball up whenever they can and pressure all the opps around the field. AJPL also have a few good decent players just like wigan who can change the game but sadly they just do not have the luck to be able to get decent results.
8. TEAM GOAT (MANCHESTER UNITED!)
Really sorry if you don't support! But i got to choose one team right? LOL
Besides wearing red as home (LOL) we almost boast similar players to Manchester United.
Ferdinand and Vidic (Norman & Liang)
Giggs (JinChuen)
Jackson (Chicharito)
Jack (Berbatov)
See similar? LOL. We also play with a similar formation to Man Utd when they played the 4-3-3 with 3 person sitting on midfield and 3 forwards. Whats more both of us are currently leading the table as well! We are also similar to them by having a Winner's mentality which i like to elaborate!
A Winning Mentality is important for a successful team. Without this mentality it would be hard for us to win game. Sometimes when we are down at the start, it is ok! because true winners will know that they will bounce back and will not just sit there and cry about it. Because soccer is not like milk (once spill and cannot retrieve!) we still have time to fight back and anytime a goal can happen! So guys, no matter how many goals we are down or what, just keep in mind that we are a good team and we are playing soccer! No matter how hard it is, we have an equal chance to turn it around!
Resemble Man Utd? You decide! anyway this is purely for fun! For other teams who might read this and feel offended, please chill-lax! I never mean to discriminate anyone and i feel that every team in this league is very good and competitve!
Kambeng!

Updates*
Guys,
1. Tmr me and Yiwen will be heading down to make our jersey's already. The no. that you guys have will not be changed. Please take note! Please understand why! Thanks! (If you dont look for me or Yiwen) So get ready the $15 for this saturday! We will most likely get the jersey on Saturday sd well.
2. What we have heard from the Organiser is that Thunder has agreed to forgo some of their games. Thus making us favourite to be in the top 2 position! But that is if this statment is true. Anyway, we will most probably be meeting them for our final game (quite hard for them to forgo our match) which is a die die must win game as well.
Also, the match last week between Vnpnus & Thunder has been postpone, should be due to rain and this week according to the fixtures they would not be playing as well. And i updated wrongly, tour d'france is meeting AJPL instead of Zespol. So a win should be on the card for them but as the ball is round, lets hope AJPL could step up their game and turn it around.
4. Lastly, we will not be having a game this week but we will have either a training or friendly game. I will sms you guys in a short while. So do let me know by today and if you don't reply i take it that you're anything.

The Nemesis
Team Goat 0 Star CF 0
Today's draw game was really hard to swallow. With this draw, it's quite certain now it spells the end of our season. For right now, we could only depends on other results to be crowned champions. And it is not an easy task because as so long Tour win one game we are dead meat. (Unless we can win Thunder the coming week! Than they would need to win 2 games.)
But that being said, Thunderveluboomqiesi is never an easy opp to play against. Until now, we have yet to win 1 game against them (not counting the walkover in season 1). They have always proved to be a very well-organised team and boasts a full array of talents. Well that being said, it is to be talk over in the coming days when D2D confirm our fixtures.
Anyway, today's game was really.... I just dont know how to put it, we could have easily won this game but it's like just not our day. The goal just won't come no matter how hard we attack them. Shots after shots, chances after chances but all came to nothing. Today I wont have "to the game" section as there is nothing much to write about.
Today most notable chance came to Kiong where he missed a penalty and an one-on-one opportunity. Both could have been slotted in cooly on any other day but today just wasnt his day. But i wouldn't blame him for he misses today because he really showed a lot of effort trying to win the game for the team (although i know u try to be top goalscorer!). Both chances was created by himself and without him we might not even have the chance.
Other notable chances were the 1st attempt on goal where yiwen tried to lob the goalkeeper with his header but went to the side of the post. BoonWee's open goal attempt which was quickly blocked out by the defenders. And lastly Ariel's attempt to nick the ball in the goal before the keeper went scrambling back to get the ball before he does.
Man of the Match - ZhuLiang (19)
Today's defence in overall was really rock solid but ZhuLiang's performance in today's game has really stepped up to a whole new level. (or has the opp player make it look easy for him? hehe) He was key in today's game where he had cleared a lot of dangerous ball with his head and almost one going to our own net! LOL! Like what he always boast, when he is a CB we hardly lost a game, and i got to agree with him, finally we (the defense) can boast that we have another clean sheet under our belt! Nevertheless keep improving bro and we shall have more clean sheet!
To sum up today's report....
Although we are still leading the table and still a chance to win it, we largely depend now on other teams to lose their games in hand. But definitely the upcoming game against Thunder, i promise you will be like a Derby game. No matter what we will fight and win against them! Till i get posted by the organiser!
Meanwhile look forward to the intra-game and the post-season party!

The Jersey
Yes, this Apacs jersey will be our new jersey for next season. This will be our away jersey and our lucky red Adidas jersey will remain as our Home jersey. The voting has been quite close that actually close to half the team wanted Nike another half wanted Apacs. So we committee have done a little voting of our own and it came off that Apacs to be the winner.
Though the brand may not be as 'Powerful' as Nike but trust me the material is way better than Nike. And for those who feel that yellow is not really a good colour? You'll never know as it may come off nice for you! Hehe
We will be making the jersey soon, for those who are coming on Saturday please bring $15 down thanks. And if you like to make shorts let me know, i will gather the response and ask for the price again. =)
Lastly, Anyone who wants to change no. let me know by this Saturday if not I take it that no one is changing. And Renjie please let me know the no. that you want. Thanks!
And fyi this weekend field is actually Artifical.

Intra Game
As i think i forget to add this into any entry, i decided to create this entry just for the intra game that is coming up.
As you all know the intra game is a game that we would hope that everyone could participate in, i'm trying to find a day where everyone is able to make it. Thus with 19th March already having 1 person who can't make it i would like to know if it is possible to hold in on 26th than.
Tag on the board on the right to let me know if anyone can't make it. If there is no responses i would take it that everyone will be able to make it on the 26th!
Thanks!

Setting the Pace
Opp: Star CF
(It could be a winning streak for us if we did not draw with them!)
K.O: 3pm
Attire: Red
Venue: Tampines Secondary School
(http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel/travel/travel_id_8824/travel_site_75853/)
Yes, its just beside Tampines mall and we can hop over to grab a bite after the game! =)
1st in the league and 2 games left! Sounds really good isn't it? But sad to say it isn't that awesome... We are leading the pack being the only team who played the most games and others (tour and thunder) can easily overtake us if they win their game/games in hand. But their task won't be easy because they are now being pressured to win each game they play to overthrow us. And their games won't be easy, with tour still to face Zespol once and Vnpnus twice. And for thunder? Well still many games to go and we still could have a say to it as well next week!
That being said, the pressure is on us as well as we need to win the last 2 games and not count on others to drop pts. This upcoming game against Star CF will be rather tricky as previously we are not really well trained and well drilled to the way they attack. The 4 goals we let in, 3 were really soft and should not have happened if we were to defend tight enough. Nevertheless what over is over, we shall look into what had happened previously and do something about it this time round.
This weekend we will most probably set up a team mainly to deal with aerial threats and have good fast movement along the flanks and midfield. Their main threats previously was from their throw-ins and the wingers. So what we could do is to tighten that down and put in players who can win the air most of the time.
They have recently picked up quite a reasonable form by winning AJPL 3-0 and losing to both thunder and tour by 1 goal. Same rule applies, we should not underestimate them and we must do everything we can to beat them to stay in the hunt for the trophy! Remember winning this trophy means Div 1 and Div 2 champions! Machiam d2d sat 3pm champion like that! We can do it!
Player of the Month - Ng KahWoon(14)
This month's Player of the Month is by far in Team Goat's history the clearest of winner (all 5 comms member voted for him). KahWoon has shown his dedication and his heart to the team by running his lungs out for the past 3 games (not to mention the injuries he sustains for team). His presence in the midfield have proved crucial for us to maintain our unbeaten run and not to say creating the 3 game winning streak. Although he still lacks some skills and vision to help the team attack (Somehow i wonder how he gets his assists!). But i guess baby steps will do.(cannot say u too good rite? later u fly! haha!)
Previously he was really down as he felt that he could not improve to be a better player. But now being a friendly neighborhood fighter i believe he will die fighting for the team than let anyone run him down! So i say Jia you! and you will be a better player as the days goes by!
Jerseys
As you should have heard about the limited amount of stocks available to our jerseys we are only down with 2 choices at the moment. Either Yellow Apacs or the Blue Nike. As i'm in camp and unable to take a photo i guess i have to try and find something that looks like it from the internet and here it is...
Our comes without the collar. I would see what you guys have to say and than determine which jersey would be chosen. A confirmation will be up around Thursday.
