Team Goat 3 Eclectico Football Club 2
(Manfred, Khalid, Kiong)
Today's friendly was rather weird and lame. Why so? Because the friendly game was literally what it was. There was no referee to ref the game and I have stepped in to ref the 1st half. (2nd half was ref my a member of Viper Social who was there for their game at 5pm)
Ok so the game started actually in mind waiting for the ref to come but as it drags on and the ref still not showing his face we decided to carry on as it is. The 1st goal came soon within 10mins when Manfred from HALF COURT took a lob shot towards goal. With the opposition goalkeeper standing in no man lands, he paddled back quickly but not in time before the ball was into the net. 1-0!
The 2nd goal was a quick counter attack where a ball from the middle of the park was spread to the over-lapping right back Benny. Millimetres away from being caught offside he ran straight to the byline and put in a fantastic cross to the box for khalid to put it home! 2-0
1st half ended and after 5minutes break the game was back on. With a very random shuffling! (benny and thad at CB, Liang at leftwing) we kicked off!
It was all quiet in the 1st 10mins of the half till kiong showed up with his pace and dribbling skills where he brought the ball from half court all the way into the penalty box before ramming the ball into the bottom right corner while running past 3 defenders chasing him.
After that we have slacken our defences abit as a mistake mis-pass by ariel gave opp the ball to put it back into the net. And a last minute goal by the opposition brought the game to a close.
The game was not charged as the referee was not present as the venue. The scoreline will also just for pure fun! But all in all it was a nice kick about where everyone get to play! And not to forget to mention, Omar has already stake his claim in between the post. Quite a good performance today and if it carries on i may have to really be on the sidelines!
Till than!

We are the champions! not!
Latest news is in about the d2d league. The league will start in 21st may which is still 4 weeks away from now. Therefore the intention is clear that they will let all the teams to finish their season. And from this thunder will definitely be champions as they will get a walkover from ajpl. Well we shall not be sad about it afterall thunder is a good team.
Others we shall not discuss in public. Whether if the decision is fair, whether if all the rumours was false we guys know the truth. If it was meant to be ours it would be!
For right now! Let's just look forward to our new season with Espzen!

Match Report!
Alright, finally found sometime and i'm going to write about the 3-3 drew we had against Bakar E FC.
Yesterday's game see our side not fielding in the strongest team yet for the coming season. Few key players was MIA but nonetheless a more than decent enough team was fielded. The game started off strongly for us as we score two goals within the 1st 15minutes. Benny broke the deadlock with a lob over the goalkeeper, who dashed out to leave the net empty. A wonderful switch flank ball by Renjie made this possible.
Our young striker, khalid, besides adding more 1st team time under his belt, he have added an assist to his name as well. A never give up attitude let him to the ball that was running out green. With an excellent cross he put the ball to the backpost where JinChuen was all open. With one touch to control the ball, JC put the ball back into the net.
Soon it all fell apart as we were not on our best at defence. A quick counter from the opp let us suffer 2 quick goals. A few shot almost turned into goals but thanks to some last minute defending we were able to block them out. Notably renjie's and jack's who did the john terry. They both threw their body on the line to block opp's shot! What passion! HEHE
Than as our captain and manager arrived on the scene. They were put into action and a chance was soon created but having not warmed up, Jackson put the ball above the goal. Wasted chance! But soon he got his goal when Jinchuen went down the left flank and put in a low cross just outside the goal-line. With a good position sense, jackson was there and put in "the easiest goal" of his life.
Somehow due to another unfortunate defending led to the opp 3 goals. Cant really remember what happened. But like any other friendly games, the result was never really what was the main concern. It was the building of the team and everybody's enjoyment that was key.
Minor facts - Like everytime we started off our season badly, Coke in season 1 and who can forget the 1st 4 game of our div 1 campaign. This draw could also be the bad start of this Espzen season. Well let all the bad things happen at friendlies and may all the winnings come in the games that matter most!
Till the next friendly!

A draw that i didnt care much about, Because WE MIGHT BE THE CHAMPIONS!!
Team Goat 3 Bakar E 3
(Benny, JinChuen, Jackson)
Today's game started off high spirit for our team as we knew the result of Tour's game before we kick the game off. An amazing 6-6 draw against Vnpnus has helped us remained on pole position for the d2d Div 1 title. Now only thunder have the chance to knock us off the table and they might not have the time to make it happen. As rumours have been flying around that this weekend will be the last weekend for the d2d season, We have a very high chance to be crown Division 1 champs.
Lucky to be winners again? We dont think so, although we started off badly in the season but we managed to keep a 10 games unbeaten run (8 win 2 losses) which is a very good record. None in the league is able to maintain this feat. We also still manage to keep our plays clean as we avoided yellow card and kept it under 12. So why not us to be champs again?
I would also take this opp to thanks all the guys who made all the effort to make this possible. Without the passion we will not be able to make it this far! And definitely special thanks to Keng Yang who played 4-5 important games for us =D! Guys no matter if we are 1st or 2nd! We have definitely did a wonderful job! and We Shall look forward to a new season in Espzen!
Match Report will be posted later as i'm rushing to get home!

Friendly Game
Opp: Bakar E Football Club (unknown to me)
Time: 5pm
Attire: Yellow (Bring red as well)
Venue: Kallang Pratice Track
(http://www.espzen.com/pitches.asp?pitch=42)
Guys, please take note of the timing of the game and the venue. Both the timing and venue is new to us so please take a note of it. As we have decided to hop over to Espzen we will now have at least 3 friendly games with Espzen where they will judge our standard and categorise us into their Saturday Division.
Although winning and losing does matter to where we stand in the league, but i still feel that friendly game is a time for us to enjoy ourselves before the real battle begins. Thus, i would hope everyone would enjoy the run-out instead of going all in alright? Just enjoy the game and no matter which division we stand in the league, it would not really matter eh?
So see u guys this sat! And if i'm not wrong i would think Thunder have forfeit their remaining games and the only game left is Tour d'france against Vnpnus which is 3pm at Clementi woods. Anyone wana go see the game before we play ours at kallang? HAHA

I'm still not back!
I'm still having my driver's training which still makes me unavailable to update the blog regularly. I'm here to tell u that no fear! We will be back in action this coming week!
Today was the tiger street comp, sadly Team Goat (Tiger Street King) could not overcome the opposition at the 2nd round where we lost to the opp 2-1. We had many chances but the goalpost seems to have magnet in it, as the ball keep hitting it for at least 5 times. Well it could just not be our day =( But well the team really put in their all (Clap Clap), it was a good experience for them and i believe they will grow from this and become better football players by the upcoming season!
Coming weeks, we'll be having our friendlies games to get us warm up for the new season. And according, to d2d the league SHOULD (i emphasis) start on the 30th April. Which means thunders are left with 2 games including the game today against VNPNUS. Should they fail to win, we WOULD be guarantee a top 2 place. Well till the result is out, i shall not talk more to confuse u guys. If u want to find out, do check out the league's website.
As for if we are going or staying (d2d), it is still in KIV. More news will be posted out soon... And guys! We are going to have our Intra game on 14th May! TAKE NOTE!!! 14th MAY! So far i only know that Benny is not able to make it, anyone else please comment on the tagboard. Thanks. Celebration should be on that day itself. More information will be passed down when we get closer to the date. =)
In the meantime, look out for next week! Hope to see you guys soon!

APB
Teamgoat juniors would be swooping their red jersey this weekend for that of Asia Pacific Brewery to compete in the Tiger Street Football tournament.
It is the first time in our short history that Teamgoat has adopted a sponsor. Let's hope the boys can bring home the glory for the team and earn themselves a trip to KL!
So go down to support them this weekend at Taka!

Paiseh guys as I'm away in camp on my driving course I really do not have time to uodate the blog and right now I'm using my friend's blackberry to do this! Don't be worry by the lack of updates we the paperwork committee (yiwen and me) is doing the admin and stuff before our new season!
Meanwhile, join us in this saturday weekend kick about all right? Its at pasir ris primary at 3.30pm.
Just to cfm the result as well, vnpnus did win tour 6-0. The reason why this happened is because tour played with 8 men without a established goalkeeper between the sticks. And if I,m not wrong, the organiser should be giving thunder a chance to challenge for the title. Fair or not? Haha I also do not know. Cos ajpl would not be playing their game anymore cos they have nothing to fight for and they will just get a free 3pts....well like what our captain always say, if it is meant to be it will be, if not than let's try harder next season and have no regrets!!!
See ya peeps!

April's Fool
I was filled with skepticism when someone posted a 6-0 win for VNPNUS over Tour de France. Fortunately for us, this is not a post April's Fool joke and if the result stands, Tour needs to score at least four goals and concede one or less in a victory in order to overtake us.
And I wonder how long more it will take to consolidate the season, as my bottle of champagne is already shivering in the fridge.
